- Open to third- and fourth-year veterinary students.
- Partnered with many of the country’s veterinary schools.
- Program Overview
- Gain experience in the emergency/specialty referral private practice environment.
- Strengthen medical knowledge and clinical competency.
- Ideal for students considering an internship.
- Flexible Scheduling
- Veterinary Student Externships can be 1 to 4 weeks long.
- Choose to work day shifts (8 AM–6 PM), evening shifts (2 PM–midnight), or a mix.
- Encouraged to work one weekend shift per week.
The Veterinary Technician Externship is your golden ticket to:
- Hands-on experience that goes way beyond textbooks.
- Work alongside skilled nurses, technicians, and assistants.
- Learn the art of exceptional patient care.
- UVC Learning & Development modules, lectures, and courses.
- Perfect prep for the VTNE—a treasure trove of veterinary wisdom!
We’re looking for students who:
- Are in their second year of a vet tech program.
- Can commit to their school’s full externship required hours and are looking for hands-on learning.
- Have:
- A passion for animal care.
- A stellar resume.
- Excellent communication skills.
