When emergency surgery is required at BSVESS, our focus is on ensuring the safety of the patient and the best possible outcome. Emergency surgeries are performed by our trained emergency doctors and, in some cases, our board-certified surgeons. Every pet gets a complete pre-operative assessment including any appropriate diagnostic testing. Every effort is made to ensure that your pet is stable and as strong as possible before undergoing anesthesia and surgery.
BSVESS has a large, modern surgery suite for performing the most up-to-date procedures utilizing advanced surgical equipment. The surgical suite is outfitted with monitoring equipment, including end-tidal carbon dioxide, pulse oximetry, blood pressure and EKG instrumentation as well as breathing support provided by a mechanical ventilator if needed. This equipment, along with table-side testing and a complete on-site laboratory, ensures the safest possible anesthesia for each patient.
